Katy Perry with Teenage Dream at Teen Choice Awards
In a giant neon-lit shape of a heart, Katy Perry was still alive when they began to sing the lyrics of their latest single “Teenage Dream.” Opening of the prestigious 2010 Teen Choice Awards with a performance of their feel-good song was just the first step in jump-starting the show, which she hosted alongside the guys from “Glee” on Sunday.
“I’mma your heart racing / In my skin-tight jeans / Be your teenage dream tonight,” Perry sang a cappella in the blinking red heart. Screens with falling drops of white filled the set as a duo of cheerleaders behind the singer dashed filled. When the chorus kicked in, Perry ran to the center of the smoke-filled stage.
Dangling in front of a huge cage boxed, Perry later joined her dancers for a few loose choreography as the stage turns dark with a number of extras, such as high-school stereotypes, including clad jocks, cheerleaders and hippies. In a dramatic end, left the dancers of the solo singers, as she raised her right hand and a fireworks shower splashed on her.
“Welcome to my teenage dream come true: The Teen Choice Awards 2010! she shouted to the roaring crowd.
“Teenage Dream” has a whole new meaning during the singer’s appearance as host of the show, was the Monday evening (August 9 broadcast.) The pop star took the opportunity to turn back the hands of time and play the desired character with the high school “Glee” Young Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Cory Monteith and Mark Salling.
“Look how beautiful these kids are tonight. I feel really kind of popular as the most popular girl in high school,” she told the audience. “Tonight my chance to go to back to high school,” the pop star said in a vivid, strapless dress.
“Do I want a sexy jock or do I want a sexy geek? But why do I pick just one?” I insisted that all of you to be here tonight with me to host, “said Perry, as they stood in a line between of “Glee” gentlemen.
Whether it is violently hostile to a cheerleader who did not sing it, or a bug-eyed goth chick with plenty of fishing nets and equipment to last the entire school year it was, proved to Perry’s hosting talents funny. But their range of costumes should not be too surprising, as the singer, MTV News suggested in June that “there are a lot of Velcro involved. But it should be fun.”
In addition to her hosting duties, the singer also went to the podium to accept surfboards (“Choice Music: Single” and “Choice Summer Song Music”) for the West Coast anthem “California Gurls.” She later took on Twitter to celebrate her award, writing, “Oh my goth I have a surfboard.”

After he posted the photo showing how she looks first thing on Twitter, perhaps Katy Perry is starting to think husband Russell Brand’s one boy maybe she shouldn’t have kissed. At all. Ever. Not a nice thing for him to do at all.
